A life in art is a blessing in Helene Grimaud 's view, but touring and performing with some of the greatest musical organizations in the world is not enough to feed her soul. "I think being part of the real world is what makes us human and it also makes us more well-rounded and empathetic artists -- you can't grow as an artist without that," the pianist said to explain the way she has juggled her very busy musical life with the establishment of the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, N.Y. "There are so many causes that can take us in so many directions, but we have to find ways that we can make a difference on an individual level.
