The Wolf Conservation Center, based in South Salem, N.Y., brought Atka, an Arctic gray wolf, to visit the Zoo for Canidae Day, part of the Zoo's weekend "Cool Zoo Summer Series" that runs through Labor Day . Sitting under a tent, to avoid the drizzle, children oohed and aahed while adults whipped out cell phones and cameras to get a shot of the long-haired, white-coated animal, as a handler walked him around on a thick chain leash.
