A motorist whose vehicle Greenwich Police say was observed by officers mounting the curb and then speeding up is facing charges including driving while intoxicated. According to a Greenwich Police report, the 25-year-old driver had red, glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol on his breath and failed field sobriety tests after he was stopped on West Putnam Avenue near Old Post Road #2 about 1:50 a.m. Oct. 15. Joseph T. Davanzo, who gave an address of 55 Hoyt St., South Salem, NY, was charged with driving under the influence, traveling unreasonably fast and unsafe movement.
